Dear  ……………………………..………………………

While thousands of people die in the field of traffic and Road safety in Turkey, tens of thousands of people are injured and some of them experience the temporary or permanent disabilities. Struggling to reduce the social aspects of losses to the minimum level possible, our association is a specialized and research agency  working under 7 major headlines. In this regard

1-      We have members in 44 provinces and active branches in 18 provinces

2-      We give the consultancy services to Turkey  with our website both in Turkish and English

3-      The number of news flashes which appeared on Google search engine is around 420.000.

4-      As a data bank of Turkey, we have been keeping all data since 1960

5-      We have been participating in all national and international symposiums and submitting the scientific bulletins.

6-      Primarily in Ankara, the education on traffic has been given to the student of 2nd and 4th grades of approximately 150 primary schools. Within this Project, this education will be given to approximately 60.000 students.

7-      With our own efforts and resources, we have bought a small office and following all our procedures here.

8-      In all our activities, we get no financial aid from the government, we meet some part of all our expenses with the sponsoring organizations and the other part of them with the membership fees and donations.

9-      All our members are of bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, doctorate degree and professors. 5 universities also provide support with  our activities.

10-    In the field of the traffic and road safety in Turkey, the place where the state and private institutions can appeal to safely is our association. Our association is an unbiased NGO.

We wish you to get informed and in particular we wish you to make contributions for the traffic education of children.

Sincerely.

IN ORDER TO PREVENT LOSS OF LIFE ON RELIGIOUS HOLIDAYS, GOVERNMENT MUST ACT VERY SERIOUSLY, JUST LIKE AGAINST TERRORISM.

01.09.2011/Ankara

  • During religious holidays in Turkey, especially on summer time, approximately 20 million citizens travel with their own vehicles (about 8 million motor vehicle) between 81 cities. Density of vehicles per square km increase 6 times than average. In other words Turkey faces an extraordinary week. Government is doing nothing but just watching hundreds of dead people and thousands of injured.
  • Although there are lots of divided road construction, it is obvious that drivers are very bad and unconscious. Driver Licenses are very easy to obtain with a fee of 150 $ from 1,600 Motor Vehicle Driver Education Centers. Almost every single year, 10000 people is killed because of traffic accidents. There is a huge system problem under government responsibility.
  • Total highway length in Turkey is 63000 km. There are 13 freeway, 17 international highway, and 48 state highway. Average highway length in European countries is almost 5 times bigger than Turkey.
  • According to Constitution, government is responsible from security of citizens life. On those extraordinary religious holidays, some extra precautions must be taken just like for terrorism. 63000 km long Supervision must be done from land and air.
  • Extraordinary precautions are being taken during extraordinary periods in developed countries. On those countries, accidents are being prevented by air control with land coordination.

To sum up, Government must take serious precautions such as,

    1. General Directorate of Security must increase highway patrols and they must be supported with radar detectors.
    2. General Directorate of Security must utilize helicopters for air control during those days.
    3. If they do not have enough helicopters, they should borrow some from Military.
    4. General Directorate of Security must establish LAND COORDINATION CENTERS. Data and Statistics obtained from air control must be evaluated immediately and citations for drivers must given especially because of high speed and improper overtaking. 01.09.2011

Dear Sir,

Thanks for your e-mail and interest. The NGO studies in the field of Traffic and Road security in Turkey is very weak.Aprpoximately 200 thousand accidents take place and 10 thousand people die in a year. The govenrnment, Ministry of Internal Affairs or any local administration does not give any financial supports to our Association. Our Association studies on R&D in an national level under 7 topics in the field of Traffic and Road Security and all Office, net and transport expenses are provided by our members.

Since our association does not have any financial gains we would like to know if it could be possible for you not to take this 165 Euro annually. But we will pay it when we find a sponsor establishment. With our 126 members we are looking hopefully to the future and we are trying to open new ways to Turkish Nation. We will be thankful if you can accept our offer and support us.

Yours Sincerely,
